On Sunday September 3 Gawler Mayor Helena Dawkins will officially
open the new premises of Gawler Books on Main North Road,
Willaston at 11am.
Owner, Allison Sadler, has moved her business into her heritage home,
built in the 1880s, having undertaken extensive renovations and changes
to accommodate the expansion of her popular book shop.
To celebrate the opening of her new premises, Allison is planning a gala day
featuring wine and nibbles, competitions and music by local acoustic
band Woven featuring their tight harmonies.
Gawler Books offers a friendly and welcoming space for all booklovers of any age.
Six rooms of new and used books offer the opportunity for readers to find books
on virtually any topic. Allison can source old and new books for special orders
and offers a book finding service for those seeking special titles.
Allison originally started the business as a hobby in the garage of her home.
After a short time she had developed such a strong client base that she moved
the shop into premises in Willaston where she continued to grow the business
. When it was clear that the business was too large for the small shop,
she decided it was time to move it into her home across the road and take
advantage of the atmosphere and space of this stunning heritage home.
